Unequal Loss Protection for Data-partitioned Mpeg-4 Video over the Packet Erasure Networks

چکیده

In this paper, we present a novel unequal loss protection (ULP) algorithm for robustly transporting datapartitioned MPEG-4 video over the packet erasure networks. To minimize the overall distortion in a frame, a redundancydistortion optimization scheme is developed by optimally assigning the given amount of forward error correction (FEC) codes between motion parts and texture parts according to the network status. Experiment results show that this proposed scheme provides high robustness and achieves graceful degradation of video quality over a wide range of packet loss rate.
